The Supreme Committee for Delivery Legacy (SC) has entered into a partnership with Qatar's Al Dawri and Al Kass Sports Channel, with both parties signing a Protocol of Cooperation agreement.
SC Secretary General Hassan Al Thawadi and Al Kass General Manager Essa Bin Abdulla Al Hitmi put pen on paper at the Al Bidda Tower, signalling cooperation in diverse areas including but not limited to broadcast content production, media rights ownership and public relations.
Al Thawadi said: 'This agreement formalises the existing cooperation between the SC and Al Kass and provides a framework to enhance our collaborative efforts.
'It will assist us in delivering our messages directly to the sport-mad populations of Qatar and the GCC, ensuring awareness of our progress and initiatives. Local support and engagement is the most important foundation for a successful tournament and this partnership will serve to strengthen and enhance this support.
Abdulla Al Hitmi also expressed his delight after the partnership was announced. He said: 'Al Kass is pleased to work along with the SC in documenting all events, activities, projects and plans relating to the preparations of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. Our shared objective is to deliver an exceptionally organised event for the world, while leaving cultural, civilisational and sporting legacies for future generations in Qatar and the region.
The SC also announced that it will continue as sponsor of the Al Kass International Cup until 2020.
