Juventus Academy comes to Oman

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The famed Italian style of football is all set to come down to the sultanate with Mosaic Sports bringing in the international academy of the Italian League giant, Juventus FC, starting this July.

Juventus, which won its sixth successive Italian League title on Sunday, will take on Spanish League champion Real Madrid for Champions League glory in Cardiff, Wales, on June 3. The Bianconeri has won a total of 35 league titles in Italian football history.

Established by the club, the Juventus Academy shares the values and methods synonymous with Juventus beyond the Italian border.

The academy allows young boys and girls from all over the world to access professional training methods validated by the club's experience of organising similar initiatives in Italy.

Trained coaches based in Turin provide constant support to clubs, with periodic visits to ensure the standards of the academy project are upheld.

It would be the first Italian club academy in Oman though there are three Juventus academies running in the UAE and one in Lebanon. The academy's operations will be launched on July 1.

However, the new term of the academy, that will conduct training sessions at the Muscat International School, Qurum and A' Soud Global School, Seeb, will begin on September 10.

Arsenal ends partnership

The new initiative follows the parting of ways of the Arsenal Soccer School Oman and Mosaic Sports, a partnership that began in 2009.

The partnership ended following a meeting by Arsenal board of directors, who decided not to continue with the soccer school partnerships globally.

With the new deal with the J Academy, Mosaic Sports coaches will be staying in Turin, Italy, in the coming days to get used to the Juventus coaching philosophy and coaching techniques.

The principles underlying the project are fair play, having fun, sharing experiences and learning to appreciate the importance of victory but also to accept defeat.

Juventus Academy aims to improve the youngsters' technical skills but also their personal qualities in line with the main guiding concept, 'Develop people first and footballers second.'

Mihir along with Hrithik Khimji, director of Mosaic Sports, recently visited the club in Turin and signed the deal in the presence of Carolina Chiappero, brand development and academy specialist and Davide Fornaca, J Academy technical specialist.

A formal launch will be done in September with J Academy's MENA technical head Marco Degortes visiting Oman.

Legend tour likely in Sept, says Mihir

Speaking to Muscat Daily , Mihir expressed his delight at the new partnership with the Italian giant and said that there was a possibility of a Legend Tour in September to Oman.

'French striker and former Juventus star David Trezeguet is likely to make a visit to Oman, subject to his availability,' said Mihir.

The forward is the fourth leading scorer for Juventus with 171 goals.

Mihir said that the J Academy in Oman will have access to Juventus camps in Turin and will give its academy wards an opportunity to create player paths in Turin for advanced training purpose.
