(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Real estate developer Aqar, on Monday, celebrated the launch of Q Series brand, a modern concept of retail and shopping centres.
The event, held at the Tulip Inn Downtown Muscat, witnessed the announcement of the inauguration of Q'Centro - the first of Q series - at Rimal Bausher Project.
Mohamed bin Abdullah al Khonji, chairman of Aqar, said that Q is a comprehensive Omani trademark that targets the shopping and commercial centres developed by Aqar for the local and regional markets. It represents a new concept of an integrated series of retail and shopping centres.
He said that Q'Centro will be spread over a lease space of 3,500sq m, with the same amount of space to be added as future expansion.
'Retail and shopping projects have built an increasing importance in Oman in the present times due to continued progress and development of our national economy, the increasing purchasing power and incomes, and tourism growth,' said Khonji.
Sadiq Jaffer Sulaiman, general manager of Aqar, said that Q'Centro will host restaurants, salons, convenience stores, a laundry, fashion boutiques, pharmacies and a play zone for children, among others, to meet the daily needs of the residents.
'The studies carried out by a specialised company noted that the annual population growth rate in Bausher is 18 per cent; and over the next ten years the total population is expected to be 24,000.
'We will evaluate the project and might replicate the same in different areas and regions. While designing Q'Centro we focused on providing modern lifestyle to shoppers.'
Qaboos bin Abdullah al Khonji, CEO of Better Homes, said Q'Centro is exclusively assigned to Better Homes as a marketing leasing agent.
