Tanzania, Uganda ink new crude oil pipeline agreement


(MENAFN) Tanzanian President John Magufuli and his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni revealed that they have approved a pact in order to begin building crude oil pipeline from Hoima to Tanga Port.

Additionally, the Tanzanian State House posted that the two countries' leaders have agreed a communique to start construction of the East African Crude Oil pipeline (EACOP) program.

According to the statement released by Tanzania's State House, "The issues of the Hoima-Tanga pipeline are agreed and resolved".

Never the less, the two sides have been arguing methods to carry on with the EACOP project after the East African nations approved in April, 2016 to the pipeline passing through Tanzania.
