GCC construction market to reach USD86bn this year


(MENAFN) The GCC construction market with the value of new building deals will reach USD86bn this year, up 7 percent over USD79.5bn of 2016.

Additionally, the UAE tops the local ranking with a projected USD40.5bn building deal awards this year, trailed by Qatar at USD16.7bn and Saudi Arabia at USD16bn.

Moreover, this is boosted by the build-up towards Expo 2020, which is projected to award 47 construction deals worth USD3bn this year.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi is continuing the development of Saadiyat Island, where 1.300 new hotel rooms, mostly in the luxury segment are in the pipeline.
