India aims to achieve foodgrain production at 273mn tons


(MENAFN) India is aiming to achieve an all-time high 273mn tons of foodgrain production this year and in the coming year.

Furthermore, foodgrain production will reach a record 271.98mn tons in the recent year, as per the second estimate of the agriculture ministry.

Accordingly, the production target for next year will record 273mn tons, while Agriculture Minister is addressing a national event that aims to chalk out sowing plan for the coming Kharif season.

Additionally, there is sufficient supply of seeds for the forthcoming Kharif season, while almost 83.46 lakh quintals of paddy seeds and 3.75 lakh quintals of tur dal seeds are available.
