Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation supports Yemen's public libraries through new initiative

MA'RIB, 24th April, 2017 (WAM) -- On the occasion of World Book Day, which falls on 23rd April each year, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, MBRF, has launched "The Nation Reads" initiative where 1,000 books will be distributed across public libraries in the Ma'rib governorate in Yemen.

During the inauguration, Abd al-Aziz Ahmad Jubar, Yemen's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service and Social Security, stressed the importance of knowledge dissemination, adding that reading is a vital exercise to increase knowledge, improve tolerance, and encourage creativity within communities.

The Deputy Prime Minister also reiterated that the General Authority of Books in Ma'rib seeks to cooperate with MBRF to build a central library in the governorate, as part of the restoration process of cultural hubs and media institutions in Yemen.
