US says Assad retains stocks of chemical weapons


(MENAFN) James Mattis said Syria would be "ill-advised" to even think of using chemical weapons again.

The comment comes after the alleged attack on 4 April which killed more than 80 people.

The US Defence Secretary James Mattis has said there can be "no doubt" that Assad has chemical weapons.

Speaking during a visit to Israel, Mattis said the Syrian government had moved its warplanes in recent days.
