Dubai, UAE, 28 March, 2017: Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) will be attending the 10th International Fujairah Bunkering & Fuel Oil Forum as a function sponsor. Taking place on 27 to 29 March at the Al Diar Siji Hotel in Fujairah, the annual event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah & Member of the UAE Supreme Council. Through the leadership of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi, the Chairman of the Fujcon Steering Committee and EMAC board of trustee member, the conference brings together maritime stakeholders from all corners of the bunker trade.
Considered the Middle East's most important bunkering forum, FUJCON is the anchor event held during Fujairah Bunkering Week, a dedicated professional training week comprising a conference, bunker courses, briefings, lab visits and off-shore anchorage site visits to the Port of Fujairah. The event forum welcomes attendees from over 50 countries, covering the entire supply chain of the bunkering industry. This conference has successfully raised the profile of Fujairah as a renowned international port of call, cementing the Emirate's position as one of the world's top three bunkering ports and a global hub for crude and product oil storage.
As well as being an official FUJCON sponsor, EMAC will join the session on the legal requirements of the Bunkering Industry, which takes place at 9am on 29 March. As part of the well revered panel, Mr. Richard Briggs, EMAC board of trustees member, will be discussing the support that EMAC can offer to the bunkering and overall maritime community in regards to the availability of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms including arbitration and mediation within the region.
'We are delighted that EMAC is a part of this year's FUJCON, says Mr. Majid Obaid bin Bashir, Vice Chairman and Secretary General at EMAC. 'It's a time for change in the maritime industry within this region, and FUJCON provides a unique platform to bring key players together to drive the transformation and growth forward. We welcome the opportunity to share knowledge with the delegates, both local and international, and to showcase the ways in which arbitration and alternative dispute resolution services provided by EMAC can benefit the industry as a whole.
