Kuwait- Malaysia halal exhibit kicks off April 5

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) By Abdullah Bogas KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 (KUNA) -- Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS), set to kick off from 5 to 8 April, will showcase all aspects of Islamic life.

The halal concept goes beyond food items to cover fields like tourism, Islamic fashion, music, banking and arts, CEO of Malaysia's External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Mohd Shahreen told KUNA on Monday.

The concept also refers to the quality of products, which will also attract non-Muslim buyers, he added.

Shahreen noted that the halal industry can spread international humane values and present a bright picture about Islam, which is being destroyed by terrorism and extremism.

Over 70 countries and hundreds of companies take part in the annual event, said the CEO.

The Middle East countries are taking the opportunity to promote their products during the event, as Malaysia is a vital commercial center in ASEAN and East Asia, he added.(end) aib.ag
