The victorious National Guard soccer team celebrate
KUWAIT CITY, March 26: The Football Team of National Guard emerged champions of the 2016- 2017 Ministries and Government Institutions Football Championship after defeating the team of Public Authority for Industry's team with a score of 4/2 in the fi nal match, which was held at the 'Friendship and Peace Stadium'.
Minister of Commerce and Industry and State Minister for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan attended the match along with the Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports Dr Hamoud Fuleiteh and representatives from the National Guard and the Public Authority for Industry.
The team of Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs took third place after defeating the team of Ministry of Defense with a score of 4/2. The award for the best coach of the championship went to the National Guard's coach Ali Dhaifullah.
The best goalkeeper award went to Abdullah Ghaleb from Public Authority of Industry. The ideal team award went to Kuwait Fire Service Directorate team. Dr Hamoud Fuleiteh praised the honorable minister Al-Roudhan for his patronage and presence in the final match. He described the minister's presence as a good gesture towards supporting the ministries' sports activities, the performance of which has reached the level of competing with the local sports clubs and associations.
Dr Fuleiteh affirmed the keenness of the Public Authority of Sports to provide necessary support for improving the sports activities of public sector employees, and providing them with opportunity to practice sports in an organized technical framework that fulfi lls their aspirations and contributes to the spread of sports culture among the members of the society.
