Dubai Derma discusses latest skin treatments

DUBAI, 25th March, 2017 (WAM) -- The 17th edition of the Dubai World Dermatology and Laser Conference and Exhibition (Dubai Derma) will start this Monday, 27th March, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the participation of specialists and dermatologists from the region and the world.

Dubai Derma is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, and it is considered the largest event in the MENA region for dermatology and laser.

Dr. Ibrahim Galadari, Professor of Dermatology at the UAE University, and Conference Chairman of Dubai Derma, said, "The conference attracts 276 prominent speakers and specialists in laser and dermatology from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Russia, Singapore, Korea, Thailand and Europe and the United States of America. Research papers that will be presented at the conference will reveal new treatments for psoriasis, vitiligo and skin allergies, in addition to important research papers on skin cancer."

"The conference this year will be held by adopting a three-track approach; the first will be Medical/Therapeutics Dermatology, which will discuss common skin diseases, especially psoriasis, vitiligo and allergies, and the latest medicines and treatments related to it; the second will be Case Presentation Dermatology, which will tackle difficult and rare skin diseases that have been recently discovered, and have a chance to win the Galadari prize worth $10,000 for best case presenters by those doctors who diagnose difficult cases and succeed in treating them. The third track will be Surgical/Cosmetic Dermatology which will tackle cosmetic treatments, skin and laser surgery, especially fillers, botox, body contouring and face lifting," added Dr.Galadari.

"Dubai Derma brings together the latest technologies and medical devices used in the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases, laser techniques and cosmetic treatments," he revealed.

The 17th edition of Dubai Derma will feature a rich scientific programme that includes 157 scientific sessions, 72 cutting-edge workshops and 99 case studies, as well as several papers, which will highlight the latest research in dermatology. At least 540 local and international companies will display their recent innovative products and equipment in the field of laser and dermatology at the exhibition.

Dubai Derma pre-conference courses havealready started with 20 specialised sessions presented by 12 speakers. Dubai Derma pre-conference courses this year witnessed the participation of 150 dermatologists and specialists coming from Bahrain, Egypt, France, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, and the courses were accredited with 24 credit hours by the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University.

Dubai Derma is organised annually by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions - a member of INDEX Holding in collaboration with the International Academy of Medical Specialization, Pan Arab League of Dermatology and the GCC League of Dermatologists; and the event is supported by Dubai Health Authority.
