Jordan- King meets Moroccan PM, parliament speaker, President of House of Councillors


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Raba, March 23 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday received at his residence here Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane, President of the Moroccan House of Councillors Abdulhakim Binshmash and Moroccan Parliament Speaker Habib Al Malki.

During the meeting, talks touched on historical ties between the two Kingdoms, and means to promote them in various domains.

King Abdullah reiterated the importance of holding the meetings of the joint Jordanian-Moroccan Higher Committee in Jordan later this year. Such meetings, he said, would boost economic cooperation and trade exchange between the two countries.

Talks also touched on means to bolster parliamentary cooperation and exchange expertise between Jordan and Morocco.

Benkirane, on his part, noted the depth of ties between the two countries and his country's keenness to cement them in various domains.

Meanwhile, the Parliament Speaker spoke high of the Kingdom's role in serving Arab and Muslim causes, while praising Jordan's advanced reform efforts.

Further, the President of the House of Councillors stressed the need to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
