(MENAFN- Morocco World News) (HO/AFP/GETTY IMAGES) Rabat - Three Moroccans have been arrested in Spain on suspicion of belonging to the Islamic State, better known as ISIS, said the Spanish Ministry of Interior in a communiqué on Thursday.
Two suspects, aged 26 and 37, were arrested separately in Roda de Ter, according to the source. on charges inciting jihadists to carry out terrorist acts on social media.
The Spanish ministry added that, in Benetússer in the province of Valencia, a 45 year old of Moroccan origin and Spanish nationality was arrested on charges of using social media to indoctrinate and recruit new jihadist members to ISIS.
'The detainee had repeatedly posted [on social media contents of] training in combat, [and] glorifying the jihadist attacks carried out by ISIS in Europe, Syria and other countries. The posts included statements glorifying terrorism, saying that "jihad is an inescapable duty" and calling for members to "fight and [take] action against the enemy,' said the Ministry.
The ministry said that during the course of the police investigation, the agents verified the appearance of each one of the typical phases of the process of terrorist radicalization.
The ministry also noted that Spanish security forces have arrested 195 terrorists linked to ISIS since the country raised the national anti-terror threat level to four in 2015 following a series of deadly terrorist attacks in Europe.
