Oman to take part in GCC eGovernment Ministerial Committee meeting


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The sultanate, represented by the Information Technology Authority (ITA), will participate in the fifth GCC eGovernment Ministerial Committee meeting in Bahrain on Wednesday.

The ministers responsible for eGovernment in GCC countries, the secretary general and a number of specialists will attend the meeting, stated a press release.

The sultanate's delegation is being headed by H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salim al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications and ITA's chairman of the board of directors. The delegation also includes Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA and a number of specialists from ITA.

During the meeting, the ministerial committee will discuss the General Secretariat report on the joint initiatives contained in the framework of the pilot eGovernment Strategy, in addition to the proposed joint initiatives to be implemented.

The committee will also discuss the GCC information security strategy and other proposed items on the agenda.
