(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- To celebrate womanhood and recognise the importance of women in the world, Middle East College (MEC) celebrated International Women's Day on March 15 at the MEC Student Hub Auditorium, Knowledge Oasis Muscat.
The programme was attended by MEC's multicultural female staff and students. The event was marked by many interesting activities, beginning with an exhibition presented by women entrepreneurs, followed by several shows covering areas such as drama, singing and dancing and other talents, discussion on 'Women's Achievements on an International Level', a fashion show and a Taekwondo show.
Abla Marhoun al Mamari, an entrepreneur and student from MEC, expressed her happiness at being part of this celebration. She said, 'Women play a major role in the world and occupy many important jobs nowadays. As an entrepreneur, I started my business of marketing/selling clothes two years ago and have now entered into fashion designing. I hope to create my own brand one day. I would like to thank MEC for its continuous support to all women in every possible way.'
MEC has always celebrated occasions specially dedicated to women, such as the Omani Women's Day and the International Women's Day, and has provided full support to its female students and staff for various events and activities locally and internationally.
