(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Muscat- Al Batinah International School (ABIS) in Sohar has been awarded the highest international accreditation available by the Council of International Schools (CIS).
Eight experienced school educators representing the organisation visited the school in November for a week and inspected the premises, observed lessons and met students, teachers, parents and members of the school board. Accreditation means that the school has been awarded a quality badge, which guarantees parents and students that the school is committed to excellence in aspects related to learning.
The school was recently visited by H E Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed bin Nassir al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, who was greatly impressed by the school at all levels and exprsed the ministry's support to it. 'Our community is delighted and proud with this news. As a school, we learn together and grow together and it is exciting to be part of such an exciting project, in which everyone contributed,' said Neil Tomalin, school headmaster.
He added, 'This takes us one step closer towards our vision of becoming a leading international school in the GCC that genuinely cares about student learning and welfare. We would like to thank the Ministry of Education for their continuing support. We are enormously grateful for the continuous support of our joint owners, Sohar Aluminium and Orpic, and for their continued outstanding commitment towards the school.'
