Qatar ITF Junior Open to begin today

The main rounds of the 2017 Qatar ITF Junior Open will begin at Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex today.
The six-day event is organised by the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF) in cooperation with the International Tennis Federation.
Around 100 players from Great Britain, Switzerland, India, Turkey, Italy, Poland, Bahrain and hosts Qatar will participate in the event. Qatar will be represented by Rayyan Al Jefairi, Abdulrahman Al Ghazal and Mubarak Shanan.
The QTSBF Secretary General said: quot;The ITF tournament comes in light of our plan to provide the Qatari players with all possible opportunities to compete with international players and to participate in more international tournaments.quot;
'The ITF event will also enable the Qatari players improve their world ranking, Zainal added.
Meanwhile, the QTSBF Junior Open continue at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex yesterday.
Qatar's Ghanim Al Sualiti qualified to the semifinals of boys under 12 years category after beating Gan Wajed in 7-5, 6-4.
In boys under 18 years category, Hamad Al Qasimi made it to the semifinals after beating Carl Samwal Cruz 6-2 6-0 in the quarterfinals.
In the semifinals, Al Qassimi will take on Mohammad Aziz Elaiwa who eased past Clemant Harmon in straight sets.
Abdulrahman Al Ghazal reached the semifinals of the same category following his 6-0, 6-2 over Yousef Essa to set a showdown with Mohammad Amin Elaiwa who defeated Hassan Al Obaidli.
Khadija Qassama claimed the title of girls under 10 category (orange stage) after beating Jawhara Al Thani 2-1 final match.
