(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Muscat- Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) conducts workshops, seminars and teacher training programmes to equip teachers with modern teaching techniques.
A workshop on 'The Importance of Lesson Planning' was conducted at AQ Khan Hall recently at 8.30am. Qari Abdul Raheem recited some verses from the Q'uran. The workshop was conducted in three sessions. All the three sessions aimed at modern teaching trends. It was attended by all faculty members including principals.
Session 1 was introduced by the senior principal. He showed three videos relevant to the context of quality teaching.
Session 2 was conducted by Zafar Iqbal, a senior IT teacher and was summed up by Gull Rahim, a senior chemistry teacher. The presenters covered all the possible details of lesson planning. The need and imprtance of lesson planning as an effective tool towards quality teaching was also discussed with the help of multimedia slides. Assessment on learning and assessment of learning were also discussed in detail.
Knowledge, application, skill and analysis-based objectives were also discussed and communicated.
Session 3 was activity-based and was conducted by Ambreen Azhar, an experienced junior school teacher. Participants in groups demonstrated their understanding by designing a lesson plan. Two groups presented their plans to the audience.
Senior principal Ataullah Niazi concluded the session by applauding the efforts of presenters and stressed on the importance on lesson planning for effecting teaching and learning.
