Qatar win handball gold in GCC Women's Games

Qatar handball team claimed the gold medal at the ongoing GCC Women's Games which end in Doha on Friday.
In the closing match on Monday, Qatar recorded a 32-12 victory over Oman to finish on top in the event with 12 points.
United Arab Emirates finished second while Bahrain settled in the third place. On the other hand, the Qatar table tennis team clinched the gold medal in the team event of the Games. In the closing match, Qatar edged past Bahrain to secure the gold medal.
Elsewhere, the Qatari basketball team continued their winning streak beating UAE 39-38 in a thriller on Monday.
The victory took the Qatari team to lead basketball standings, three points more than Bahrain, who are in the second place.
Meanwhile a physical education workshop for people with special needs kicked off in Doha yesterday.
Titled 'Modern international applications to integrate people with special needs into the physical education program' the workshop is organized by the Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) and held at QOA Headquarters.
The four day long workshop is targeting 25 teachers (male and female) in the public and private schools beside Al Shafalah Center for people with special needs and coaches from Qatar Paralympic Committee.
The workshop will help the teachers to get more knowledge and experience about the methods required to integrate the people with special needs into the physical lessons.
