Delegation from Japan's Marubeni Corporation visits Abu Dhabi Energy Authority

ABU DHABI, 27th February, 2017 (WAM) -- A high-level delegation from the Japanese Marubeni Corporation visited the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Energy Authority, as part of its visit to Abu Dhabi to oversee some final contractual procedures of the Abu Dhabi solar power plant project in Swaihan.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of Energy Authority, Member of the Executive Council, met with the visiting delegation that included Masumi Kakinoki, Chief Executive Officer of Marubeni Corporation's Power Projects and Plant Group, and Keisuke Takajaki, Executive Director for the Marubeni Energy Company in the Middle East and Africa, as well as a number of officials. Faris Obaid Al Dhaheri, Advisor to the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Energy Authority, was also present.

Sheikh Abdullah said the visit of the delegation from the Marubeni Corporation, which is one of the first investors in Abu Dhabi's energy sector, is a confirmation of the strategic partnership between both sides, and is aligned with the Energy Authority's goals to develop ties with global partners, diversify its sources of energy production and increase the use of renewable energy, according to the vision of the wise leadership and Abu Dhabi's future energy plan.

The Abu Dhabi solar power plant project in Swaihan is one of the largest solar energy projects in the region, which will contribute in strengthening the UAE's stature as an international centre in the field of solar energy.
