Afghanistan inks deal for USD113mn Ghazni-Kandahar project


(MENAFN) A deal worth USD113mn for Ghazni-Kandahar power project was inked between Afghanistan's State Power Co. and an Indian firm, KEC International.

Accordingly, the project is part of the 500kV Turkmenistan power project and will involve a 220kV transmission line from Ghazni to southern Kandahar province.

Meanwhile, the project will be built with the financial support of United States Agency for International Development.

Previously, an agreement was inked for the transmission of 300 megawatt elects line from the northern Doshi to central Bayman province.
