Ternium plans to acquire Brazilian steel maker for USD1.3bn


(MENAFN) Ternium, a steel producer which is part of the Italian-Argentine Techint conglomerate, posted that it aims to buy Brazil's Companhia Siderurgica do Atlantico (CSA) for 1.26 billion euros.

This acquisition is part of the group's scheme to increase its attendance in Latin America's three biggest industrial countries Argentina, Brazil as well as Mexico.

Ternium's president further added that the company may reinforce its business also in strategic sectors.

Moreover, CSA, which is one of Brazil's most fresh steel producing plants has an annual putput capacity of 5 million tons of steel.
