Apple identifies 10 UAE locations for iPhone 6s battery repairs: Report

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Apple has apparently identified 10 locations in the UAE where owners of iPhone 6s devices with a battery issue that causes these units to unexpectedly shut down may have them repaired, a local media outlet has reported.

The broadcast from Oloom Aldaar (Abu Dhabi Media - News Center), which was in Arabic, stated that Apple officials in the UAE have identified seven and three locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, respectively, for the endeavor.

The report did not have any specifics on where these locations are or when it would start.

However, going through the "Find Locations" page (locate.apple.com/ae/en) on Apple's UAE website, the numbers would match those when one accesses the "Service" tab, in which it requires a user to enter the location, product type and carrier.

The results apparently match the numbers in the report: results for Dubai show seven outlets - Graphics Technology Computer Maintenance in Deira, Mediacast Trading in Oud Metha, Axiom Care at Sheikh Zayed Road, Sharaf DG in Times Square, Makina Technologies in Al Barsha, Sharaf DG in Sharjah's Corniche area and the Apple Store in Mall of the Emirates. The report added that these centres will also cater to customers from Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Abu Dhabi's three results, on the other hand, show Axiom Care at Dalma Street, MDS Computers Technical Systems at Muroor Road and the Apple Store in Yas Mall.

Apple also presents additional options for etisalat and du subscribers, advising them "to get service through etisalat/du, visit the etisalat/du website for additional service options".

The broadcast further reiterated earlier reports that the issue is limited to some 88,700 iPhone 6s devices in the UAE with specific serial numbers and manufactured in China between September and October 2015.

Khaleej Times could not reach representatives of Apple as its UAE public relations offices are closed on Friday.

As at posting time, there also was no release regarding this on the Apple UAE website.
