3 held in liquor factory bust

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 8: Three unidentified expatriates were arrested from an apartment in Capital Governorate which was being used for manufacturing liquor. According to security sources, Capital securitymen were patrolling the area at night when they noticed a man walking by the road. As they approached him, he started running. Securitymen chased him until they noticed him enter a building and go into a flat.

After obtaining a warrant from the Public Prosecution and requesting for backup support, securitymen raided the flat and found large number of barrels filled with liquor and equipment used for manufacturing liquor.

They arrested three expatriates from the flat, including the one whom they chased, and checked their details to discover two of them were reported as absconding and were in violation of the residency law. During interrogations, they confessed to manufacturing liquor and selling them to their clients, revealing that the caretaker of the building was aware of their activities and used to receive commission from them. The suspects were referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action
