Bulgaria's FDI declines in 2016 by 60%


(MENAFN) According to data from the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), foreign direct investment (FDI) declined by 59.7% year-on-year in 2016.

BNB reported that earlier in 2016, FDI in Bulgaria, presented to the directional principle, amounted to USD726.9m or 1.5% of gross domestic product.

Also data showed that the largest net direct investment inflow in the Balkan country came from Luxemburg at 135.6m euros, followed by Netherlands 128.1m euros, and Britain 118.1m euros.

However, equity amounted to 222.3 million euros, while in 2015 it stood at 1.1 billion euros.
