(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb. 6 (Petra) -- The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) country director in Jordan, Byun Sook-Jin, said Monday that the agency would establish 3 new schools in Irbid, Mafraq and Zarqa governorates for Jordanian and Syrian students.
She told Petra that the venture would start this year and finish in 2020, as KOICA recognizes the need to ease the pressure arising from hosting the Syrian refugees.
The $11 million project comes as part of supporting the Jordan Response Platform to the Syria Crisis, said Byun.
Further, she also spoke about other projects the agency would establish, including those related to the vocational education sector and development of e-procurement system. She said the agency will also next year finish the construction of 3 health centers in the Kingdom at the cost of $5 million.
In addition to the projects undertaken by the Korean agency, Byun said KOICA also runs an annual program for Korean volunteers who are experienced in the various domains.
