Kuwait- Women Affairs Cmte takes part in Arab, global meetings


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 5 (KUNA) -- Women Affairs Committee at the Cabinet will take part in the 36th session of the Arab Women Committee at the Arab League that will kick off in Bahrain Monday and will continue for two days.

In a press statement, the committee said it will also participate in the Arab preparatory conference of the 61th session of the Commission on the Status of Women in UN, adding that Bahrain will host the two meetings under the auspices of the Arab League and Sheikha Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.

Chairperson of Women's Affairs Committee at the Cabinet Sheikha Latifa Fahad Al-Salem Al-Sabah received an invitation from Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmad Abul-Gheit to participate in the 36th session of the Arab Women Committee at the Arab League.

Sheikh Latifa underscored the importance of attending the 36th session as it will discuss issues of women empowerment and advancement at the Arab level, referring to the importance of Kuwaiti participation at all regional and international events.

Sheikha Latifa headed a Kuwaiti delegation that will participate in the two meetings. (end) mrf.haq
