(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, Feb 3 (KUNA) -- A man was shot and seriously wounded after an attempt to stab a soldier on anti-terror patrol in central Paris early Friday, French media and official sources indicated.
A television reported that the soldier was attacked while on patrol in the world-famous Louvre complex in the centre of the city.
No details have been officially given about the attack, but the Interior Ministry confirmed a "security incident" of a serious nature was taking place in the Louvre area.
France is still under a State of Emergency since November 2015 and troops and police are highly visible in high numbers and in heavily-armed patrols of tourist and other sites in Paris and major French cities. (end) jk.gta
