Kuwait- Ban on import of poultry from 5 countries (Tunisia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Romania)

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: Director-General of the General Department for Customs Khalid Al-Seif has given instructions to stop the import of all live poultry and chics from five countries which have reported an outbreak of the Avian Flu, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The countries are Tunisia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Romania. In other news, the Customs Department has asserted all necessary action has been taken to prevent the smuggling of subsidized ration food across the border.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has closed six companies, fruit and vegetables centers and a fish market for selling inedible foodstuffs, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily did not give more details
