(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Moderate to heavy rain occurred in several parts of the sultanate on Wednesday.
Rain fell in Quriyat in Muscat governorate, Shinas in North Batinah, Rustaq in South Batinah and Al Hamra in Dakhliyah.
The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has said that sultanate will be affected by low pressure system leading to rain in many parts of the country, including Muscat, over three days starting from Thursday. The weather system is likely to result in drop in temperature.
The Met office issued an advisory on Wednesday stating that the latest weather analysis in the National Hazard and Early Warning Centre showed that the sultanate is affected by a trough of low pressure with chances of isolated rain and occasional thundershowers in Musandam, North and South Batinah, Muscat, South Sharqiyah and along Al Hajar mountain range from Thursday for three days.
It added that the sea is expected to be moderate to rough along the coastal areas of Musandam and Sea of Oman with maximum wave height of 2.5m.
PACA has advised public to follow weather bulletins and take precautions before sailing.
