Kuwait- Qatari Amir meets with humanitarian dignitaries


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with a number of humanitarian work dignitaries in Doha on Wednesday.

He welcomed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Humanitarian Funds (OICHF) Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Advisor to His Highness the Kuwaiti Amir and Chairman of the International Islamic Charitable Organization Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatouq, the UN Secretary General's Envoy for Humanitarian Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Muraikhi, and their accompanying delegations, , Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

The humanitarian work dignitaries are visiting Doha to attend a UN initiative to honor leaders of humanitarian work, it added.

The audience was attended by GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdul-Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

The initiative was organized by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Humanitarian Funds (OICHF) on the occasion of the end of Al-Maatouq's term as a UN humanitarian envoy and Al-Muraikhi's succession. (end) nnd.mt
