(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Kalabhavan School of Music & Arts, the franchisee of Kochin Kalabhavan, will be celebrating its 11th annual day on January 27 at The Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel.A large number of students and teachers of Kalabhavan will be participating in this mega event, which has free entry and will start at 7pm.
Siddique, noted Malayalam film director and scriptwriter (known popularly as Siddique Lal), will be the chief guest of the event.He has directed many Malayalam movies.Some of his recent hit movies are Bodyguard and King Lair.
Siddique will be accompanied by K S Prasad, one of the director board members of Kochin Kalabhavan. Prasad is well known for his comedy shows and has directed many stage shows in and outside India.He has completed more than 40 years in the industry.
Kalabhavan made its humble beginning in Muscat in 2006 with its first institute in Ghubra and later, two more branches were opened at Al Hail and Ruwi.All branches are manned by professionally qualified and experienced teachers.Kalabhavan has always been at the forefront of providing quality training to students – be it dance, music or any other performing arts. Currently, it provides training in Indian classical dance, cinematic dance, Carnatic music, tabla, mridangam, drums, congo, guitar, keyboard,drawing and karate.
For the last one month, the students and teachers have been tirelessly rehearsing for the annual day programme which includes fusion dance and musical instruments.
A percussion feast consisting of more than 15 musical instruments will be an added attraction of the show.Coinciding with the celebration, an art exhibition by Kalabhavan students is also being arranged at the venue.
The entry for the programme is free and seating will be on first come first served basis.
