(MENAFN) Jordan's tourism sector has remained resilient with revenues stable at USD4bn in 2016 against the previous year despite many militant attacks.
Furthermore, the kingdom hosted 3.8mn foreign visitors last year who spent in the country at least one night, an increase of 2.6 percent from the previous year.
Accordingly, the sector was able to cushion itself from the consequences of an attack last month in the southern city of Karak.
In addition, tourism is one of the country's major sources of foreign currency and constitutes almost 10 percent of its GDP.
