Muscat, several parts of country to receive rain for next few days: Met

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Muscat and several other parts of the sultanate are likely to witness mild to moderate rain for the next three days, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation has tweeted. A senior official at the Met department said, 'Parts of Musandam, Sur, North and South Sharqiyah and areas along the coasts will see rain for the next couple of days.

'This is a normal phenomenon. Oman often receives rain during winter. In 2015, it rained in December and last year it was in January.' Rain is likely to bring down temperature by a few degrees in Muscat, he said. 'Temperature will drop by a few degrees and the average day temperature will be around 23°C in and around Muscat. By night, the temperature may fall by three to four degrees further.

'Strong and cool winds too are expected in the city.' The wave height will be three to five metres and fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea, the official said. 'There will be no rain in Jebel Akhdar and Jebel Sifah. In Jebel Akhdar, the temperature is expected to be around 2°C.'
