Oman- 18th Oman International Motor Show begins at OCEC


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- H H Sayyid Tarik bin Shabib al Said opened 18th Oman International Motor Show at the new Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) on Wednesday.

Recognised as Oman's flagship event for the automotive industry and the longest running exhibition in any sector, the Motor Show 2017 features a traditional line-up of top of the line car models, classic cars, in addition to an auto parts and accessories pavilion featuring Chinese companies. It also has road safety demonstrations, outdoor test drives, a children's zone that offers interactive and educational fun and a blood donation campaign.

Nader Abbas, Omanexpo's general manager said, 'The Motor Show 2017 will introduce the first-ever Auto Excellence Awards with the assistance of independent international auditing firm BDO and a panel of independent and renowned personalities with proven expertise and experience in the auto industry.

'Adding to the special attractions are the adventure displays by Oman Riders Club, Muscat Bikers, and Shabek Adventure Oman. Visitors will be given the opportunity to win prizes such as mobile phones, LED TVs, electronic gadgets, and a brand new 2017 Toyota Corolla in a raffle draw, which will culminate the event.

'All these new features and activities are intended to create interest of the youth in Oman. They are also meant to showcase talent. By highlighting all these through the Motor Show platform, we are positive that we are moving in the right direction in terms of promoting not only trade opportunities for this sector, but other activities.'

The Motor Show, which has now become a permanent fixture on Oman's motoring calendar, is held every two years.
