Malaysia's exports fall 8.6% in October

(MENAFN) A monthly report from Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry showed that Malaysia's exports decline slowed in October, posting USD15.6b, an 8.6% drop compared to a year ago.

Though Exports volume was the highest recorded in 2016, it fell for the second time in a row after a 3% decline in September, which the ministry said was: "due to high-base effect of October 2015."

The decline also was the result of 34.8% drop in exports of mining goods, comprised mainly of liquefied natural gas and petroleum.

However, Malaysia's exports to China increased by 3.4%, due to higher exports of electrical and electronic exports.
