SEOUL, 6th December, 2016 (WAM)--The organising committee for the 2021 World Gas Conference was launched on Wednesday, with the preparation for the largest triennial event of the global gas industry, the government said.
Starting from 1931, the World Gas Conference is the most high-profile gathering in the world, with 15,000 influential leaders, buyers and sellers, policymakers and experts from 90 countries to visit South Korea in 2021, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
South Korea was selected as the host country for the 2021 event in 2014 after three previous attempts. It will also serve as the chair country of the International Gas Union based in Norway from 2018 for three years.
The organising committee is comprised of government officials and businessmen and experts to take charge of building a framework for the upcoming event and drawing up programmes.
