(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Round ten of the QSL season has thrown up a number of key matches at the top of the table, and it's no wonder that the top of the table clash between El Jaish and Lekhwiya is rightly the QSL spotlight game.
The tie will see first and second face off in what promises to celebrate the very best of Qatari football. El Jaish have been nothing short of perfect this season under Sabri Lamouchi and have opened up a four point lead at the top of the QSL standings.
Last time out El Jaish needed a last gasp Lucas Mendes free-kick to secure all three points in a scrappy win again Al Ahli.
Coach Sabri Lamouchi will be pleased with the fighting qualities exhibited by his side and by coming away from Al Ahli stadium with all three points, despite not playing too well. El Jaish will have to up their game against their rivals who they share their home stadium with.
Lamouchi will turn to the clubs leading scorer Romarinho to score the goals against Lekhwiya. The Brazilian has been sensational in the league this season and has ten goals so far.
El Jaish will need the former Corinthians attacker to be firing on all cylinders if they are to open up a seven point gap at the top of the table.
As for Lekhwiya they are hot on the heels of their rivals, despite dropping points against Al Khor and Al Rayyan in recent weeks. Last time out Djamel Belmadi's side brushed a side Al Sailiya with a professional 3-0 win.
Lekhwiya looked superb in attack and crucially registerd a clean sheet, which will please Belmadi after looking leaky at the back in recent weeks.
Lekhwiya midfielder Karim Boudiaf has been leading my example in the centre of the park for the Red Knights.
The Qatar internatiaonal midfuielder has two goals in QSL games and will be aiming to add to his tally in the derby game against El Jaish.
