Hunaidy and his team of Kayak 4 Kuwait will travel along the coasts of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and UAE before arriving at Musandam in Oman.

The expedition will cover a distance of 2,000km in 70 days, stated a press release.

The tour was flagged off by Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmad al Sabah, director general, Environment Public Authority in Kuwait.

Hunaidy said the expedition aims to spread awareness on the importance of protecting the marine environment, prevent the violations being made on beaches, protect beaches from all types of pollution and highlight tourist attractions of each country.

The team will be cooperating with environmental authorities of the countries it visits.

Hunaidy said the kayaking expedition will be 'arduous adventure' for his team given that sea will be rough due to the weather changes happening during this time of the year.

The team expects to engage children of the GCC countries in environment awareness campaigns during the tour. These campaigns aim to instill environmental values in the hearts of the children, the future of these nations.

The team consists of eight members including Said bin Mohamed bin Suhail Balhaf, an Omani student.
