UAE distributes school supplies in Yemen

AL MUKALLA, 23rd October, 2016 (WAM) -- Yemeni school students in Brom Mayfa District, Hadramaut governorate, received some 800 school bags along with boards, chairs and desks from the Emirates Red Crescent team in the first phase of a project to support education in the country.

During the launch ceremony of the project, the head of administration of Brom Mayfa Salah Al Bas and the head of the district's education department Musallam Al Shammasi thanked the UAE humanitarian agency for supporting education in the coastal areas of the governorate.

Head of the UAE relief team in Hadramaut Mattar Al Ketbi stressed that the agency seeks to ease the suffering of students and families affected by the situation in the country.

The initiative, launched in early October, is part of intensive efforts to support all schools in Hadramaut, he noted.
