Morocco- King Mohammed VI, President Kagame Determined to Establish Strong Partnership

(MENAFN- Morocco World News) King Mohammed VI and President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, reaffirmed their determination to work for the establishment of a strong partnership.

'Noting with satisfaction the convergence of their visions of the socio-economic development across the two countries, the two leaders reaffirmed their determination to work for the establishment of a strong partnership based on South- South cooperation,' said a joint statement issued after the official visit of HM the King in Rwanda.

King Mohammed VI and President Kagame praised the strong impetus injected to political relations between Morocco and Rwanda. They agreed on concrete actions to promote bilateral cooperation, the statement added.

To this end, 'the two leaders gave their high instructions for the establishment of a substantial operational legal framework to give structure to a successful collaboration between the two governments and both countries' private operators,' the statement said.

'This official visit crowns a positive development of bilateral relations in recent years, marked particularly by the visit of His Excellency President Paul Kagame, on June 20-21 2016, to Casablanca. It illustrates the convergence of the visions of the two Heads of State to strengthen ties of friendship between the two countries and promote regional integration and the African continent's development,' the same source added.

'The first of its kind in Rwanda, the visit of HM King Mohammed VI expressed the will of the Kingdom of Morocco (…) to further open up to East Africa, diversify its partnerships in the continent and broaden in this region the model of South-South cooperation that the Kingdom has developed with its traditional partners on the continent,' the statement said.

The 23 agreements, signed on the occasion of this official visit, represent a 'significant step towards achieving the goals set by the two Heads of State and give a qualitative impetus to bilateral relations,' the document noted.

HM the King and President Kagame emphasized the key role of Moroccan and Rwandan private sectors in strengthening bilateral relations, while encouraging the economic operators of both countries to redouble their efforts in order to set up a mutually benefiting win-win partnership, the statement said.
