(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Baghdad, Oct.22 (Petra) -- U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter, Saturday arrived on an unannounced visit to Baghdad to get an assessment of the US - backed Iraqi campaign to retake Mosul from Daesh.
Carter told reporters that Turkey should have a role in the campaign and cooperate with the United States to retake the Iraqi city of Mosul and fight Daesh in the Syrian city of Raqqa.
Washington and Turkey Friday had an agreement in principle to include Turkey in the operation to retake Iraqi city of Mosul from the Daesh terrorist organization.
