UAE launches infrastructure projects in Beqaa villages in Lebanon

BEIRUT, 21st October, 2016 (WAM) -- The UAE has launched a series of infrastructure projects in the villages of western Beqaa in Lebanon, which are being funded by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, launched these projects in the presence of Director of Humanitarian and Development Affairs Attache, Counsellor Muslim Obaid Al Mansouri, and senior Lebanese officials.

Ambassador Al Shamsi was warmly received at the Beqaa villages, where the UAE implements sanitation, water and other projects. While receiving the UAE envoy, the crowds held aloft banners praising the UAE's humanitarian role in Lebanon.

The UAE's support would continue as per the directives of the leadership, the ambassador said while inspecting these projects.

Al Mansouri said that there was coordination with the Lebanese municipalities on plans to implement more development projects.
