The King has to be with the Kings team: Gayle

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Former West Indies captain says the league's success is a great boost for Pakistan cricket Despite the presence of legendary names like Viv Richards and Wasim Akram, Chris Gayle was the biggest attraction at the draft for the PSL 2 at the Dubai Sports City Domeon Wednesday.

The West Indies T20 batting superstar was in great mood after being picked by Karachi Kings for the second edition of the league.

"Of course, I am very happy that I would be playing for Karachi. The king has to be with the kings team," Gayle joked.

On a serious note, the former West Indies captain says the league's success is a great boost for Pakistan cricket.

"I mean obviously the PSL was a big success last season. So many big international players took part in it and there was big crowd in almost all the matches," he said.

"I am sure next year we are going to see another very successful tournament. It's a great boost for Pakistan cricket."

"It's one of the most exciting T20 leagues in the world. I am looking forward to playing in the second edition of the tournament. Hopefully we will have a great tournament," said McCullum, who will captain Lahore Qalandars in the second edition of the tournament.

The five-team tournament will be held next year and Lahore is set to host the final match.
