Kuwait- Woman among drug traders held

The man and woman drug peddlers KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: Two Asian expatriates were arrested in possession of drugs. According to security sources, when Drugs Control General Department received information about two Asian expatriates involved in selling drugs, a team was formed to monitor the suspects. An undercover agent was sent to the suspects to purchase drugs and during the transaction, the suspects were arrested.

They were found in possession of 50 grams of 'Chemical' drug and few pieces of hashish. They were referred with the drugs to the Public Prosecution for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, an Asian expatriate was arrested in possession of 400 grams of heroin. Also, an Asian woman was arrested in possession of 20 grams of hashish and drug paraphernalia. Necessary action was taken against them. In another development, Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs at Ministry of Health Dr Mahmoud Abdulhadi says the drug known as 'Chemical' (synthetic drug) emerged for the first time in some GCC countries, then moved to Kuwait illegally and then to some other countries, reports Al-Seyassah.

He clarified that 'Chemical' is a complex drug which consists of certain herbs, drugs and poisonous substances used for making insecticides, adding that this drug has various names. Dr Abdulhadi commended the decision to add 'Chemical' to the list of banned drugs.
