(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Sharjah Municipality has announced free pre-paid parking across the emirate on the occasion of the Hijri New Year holiday, which falls on Sunday.
Attif Al Zarooni, Director of the Public Parking Department at Sharjah Municipality, said that parking will be free to mark the celebration of the Hijri New Year. Parking charges will resume on Monday, October 3.

He added that the municipality seeks to ensure a happy and comfortable holiday for the residents of Sharjah.
The municipality will be committed to its social responsibilities during all holidays and occasions to ensure peasant and peaceful environment for public.
Al Zarooni stressed that inspectors will be working throughout the day to ensure no one exploits the parking, and urged motorists to avoid unauthorized parking to avoid hefty fines.
The inspectors will also focus on cars that block the roads to cause congestion.
