UAE- POLL: Which is the greatest Sharjah innings?

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Tendulkar's 143 or Miandad's last-ball six?

The iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium is hosting its 225th one-day international match on Friday.

After thrashing the West Indies 3-0 in the T20 series, Pakistan begin their three-match one-day series against the Caribbeans in Sharjah - a venue that has witnessed some of the most unforgettable cricket battles in the past.

The grand old stadium has also seen some outstanding centuries by some of the finest players the game has ever seen.

Today, we want you to vote for your best Sharjah innings.

Naturally, if you are an Indian fan you still drool over Sachin Tendulkar's back-to-back hundreds against the mighty Australia in 1998.

In the last round robin match, Tendulkar's 143 was not enough for India to beat Australia. But the master batsman dragged the team to the final. Then in the final, he played another brilliant innings (134) as India beat Australia to lift the Coca Cola Cup.

And if you are a Pakistani fan, you still can't forget Shahid Afridi's stroke-filled 108 not out against New Zealand in 2002.

Basit Ali also made an epic 127 off 79 balls in a match Pakistan lost to the West Indies due to the brilliance of Brian Lara (153) in 1993.

Lara also played another magnificent innings (169 off 129 balls) in an unforgettable encounter with Sri Lanka.

But, of course, Sharjah will never forget Javed Miandad whose last-ball six gave Pakistan a famous one-wicket win over arch-rivals India in 1986. Miandad made 116 off 114 balls despite losing wickets at the other end at regular intervals.

So, we have 10 options for you and we want you to select your favourite Sharjah innings.
