RBS to pay USD1.1b fines for US authorities


(MENAFN) Royal Bank of Scotland said it had agreed a fine of USD1.1b with US authorities over the alleged mis-selling of mortgage securities ahead of 2008 financial crisis.

While that comes a week after US authorities said they would seek USD14b from Deutsche Bank over similar allegations.

The British bank said: "The Royal Bank of Scotland Group has reached a final settlement with the National Credit Union Administration Board to resolve two outstanding civil lawsuits for USD1.1b."
