UAE Ambassador attends signing ceremony of Colombia Peace Agreement

BOGOTA, 28th September, 2016 (WAM) -- Mohammed Issa Alqattam Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Colombia, has attended the signing ceremony of the agreement between the Colombia's Government and Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, FARC.

Upon the invitation of the Colombian government, the UAE Ambassador and diplomatic missions, consulates and international organisations in the capital, Bogota, attended the ceremony.

The signing of the peace deal, which was attended by a crowd of 2,500 foreign dignitaries and special guests in Cartagena, aimed to end a bloody armed conflict that began in 1964.
